Happiness In Action: Wildlife Photographer Trey Mahoney
We were delighted to welcome Trey Mahoney of UBS to Café Sapori for our Into the Wild evening, where he shared his extraordinary wildlife photography and took us on a visual journey across the globe. From big cats on African safaris to orcas in the waters of Norway and brown bears in Alaska, his photographs offered a remarkable glimpse into the lives of some of the world’s most fascinating animals.
Behind every image is a story of adventure, patience, and perseverance. Photographing apex predators in their natural habitats is no simple undertaking. It can mean spending hours out on the ice in freezing conditions, waiting for a polar bear to emerge, or remaining still and observant in the field for the brief opportunity to capture an animal in its natural element. These encounters require not only technical skill but also a deep respect for the animals and the environments they inhabit.
Trey’s images reminded us just how extraordinary the natural world is, from the diversity of its wildlife to the very different landscapes these animals call home.
Each photograph revealed a moment that might otherwise go unseen, offering a closer look at the beauty, power, and individuality of these creatures. There is something special about a hobby that takes you beyond the familiar, opens the door to new experiences, and creates a deeper appreciation for the world around us.
Through his lens, Trey brought these faraway places and remarkable encounters to our gathering, giving us a chance to experience a little of the wonder of being there ourselves. His passion for wildlife photography was evident throughout the evening, reminding us that sometimes the greatest rewards come from curiosity, a willingness to venture beyond our comfort zones, and the patience to wait for a moment worth capturing.
We’re so grateful to Trey for sharing his work and the stories behind it with the Happiness Club. It was a memorable evening that left us with a renewed appreciation for the wild world beyond our own backyard.
