What better way to spend a summer afternoon than traveling the world without ever leaving the table? In July 2025, Tom Van Horn joined us at Cafe Sapori for The American Ex-Pat Life, regaling the Happiness Club with stories from his years around the globe and the experiences, observations, and unexpected insights that came with them.

And, naturally, no armchair adventure would be complete without a few prizes for the journey. Tom raffled off a copy of 1,000 Places to See Before You Die and a wonderfully whimsical travel-sized globe backgammon set — because there’s always room for one more game in the suitcase.

It was a fascinating and delightful afternoon filled with stories, laughter, and plenty of reasons to keep exploring.

Tom Van Horn currently serves as the President of the Palm Beach Chapter of the Circumnavigators Club. You can find out more at https://circumnavigators.org/chapters/palm-beach-florida/ or connect with them on Facebook
