Tracy Hackett has been practicing holistic medicine since 2005 as a Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental medicine and she has a full-time holistic healthcare practice in Jupiter. Tracy has an international perspective having worked in India, Nepal, and Washington DC in private practice and in community service capacities. Additionally she studied traditional medicine in San Francisco, China, India, and Thailand. She’s done hospital observation in China, at CPMC in San Francisco, and at the NIH in Bethesda, Maryland. Through her travels and studies, she has found the value of traditional medicine and experienced the value of western functional medicine. Over the years, Tracy blended the two to bring powerful results to her patients.
“I want to share with you how East-West Functional Medicine may be of help to you and your family and friends. It was of great help to me during intervals of poor health where nothing else was working and in some cases made the situation worse. The power of TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) is in its application, but also within the flexibility of the system medicine itself.”
We are beings of this earth, nourished by the ground below and the heavens above. The seasonal changes advance time and age but also rotate a cycle of those changes through the systems of our bodies. Keeping the flow of those cycles balanced is part of how TCM contributes to health and wellbeing through herbal medicine, acupuncture, and other holistic lifestyle choices.
We can learn a great deal about new supplements and herbs with Google these days, but interpreting your unique issues through lab work and the subjective diagnosis of TCM is as much of an art as it is systems science. Understanding how holistic medicine can help you promote your longevity, and by extension your strength and enjoyment of life through all of your years, isn’t an all or nothing proposition. You do not have to choose between your MDs and medications.
“What I am proposing is to find a balance of the two that best suits you and your health as it changes over time. I take the middle path approach with my patients and will discuss what that can look like for you. 65 is the new 50! I invite you to see what I mean by that in my upcoming talk as an introduction to a book that I am writing on the subject I so love.”
