Dr. Jeffrey Zurawin, A.P, D.O.MAcupuncture Physician and Doctor of Oriental Medicine, and owner of Lifegate Acupuncture, together with his wife Yumiko Zurawin, will lead a discussion on how to attain a happy, healthy life using the basic principles of traditional Chinese medicine.
Dr. Zurawin graduated top of his class at the Atlantic Institute of Oriental Medicine in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. In addition to extensive training in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Dr. Zurawin holds a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Nova Southeastern University and is also a Reiki Practitioner. These complementary disciplines allow Dr. Zurawin to promote healing of mind, body and spirit. Dr. Zurawin lived in Japan for several years where he continued to cultivate his spiritual practice through meditation, Zen and martial arts. As a holistic practitioner, Dr. Zurawin combines his expertise in acupuncture, herbs, meditation, psychology and nutrition to all play an active role in healing and prevention of disease. Yumi Zurawin AKA “Big Mama” is the Lifegate resident rock star licensed massage therapist. She is an expert at getting rid of pain! She has studied many styles of massage including Hawaiian Lomi Lomi, Swe-thai, Nurturing The Mother Fertility & Pregnancy Massage, and Trigger Point. For the last few years she has studied Japanese osteopathic techniques with 2 Japanese masters, Dr. Ken Yamamoto and Dr. Setsuko Katahira. These modalities are extremely effective for alleviating pain including low back, hip, sciatica, neck and shoulder. Yumi has excellent assessment skills and creates a unique signature massage to get the best results for each client.
